CARP


 Allows a group of hosts on the same network segment to share an IP address - "redundancy group"

 With the virtual IP address a virtual MAC address is created too 

 Helps creating redundant services (DNS, FTP, HTTP etc.)

 It also can do load-balancing and preemption
